The centennial of the Armenian Genocide will be the subject of a Newsmaker news conference at the National Press Club’s Broadcast Center on Thursday, May 7.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan, Chief of Staff to the President of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan, and Chairman of the National Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide Centennial (NCAGC) Chairman and 100 LIVES Co-Founder Noubar Afeyan, will discuss the events of 100 years ago and also will highlight memorial events being held in Washington and across the globe during the week by the Armenian community, a PR Newswire press release reports.
Thousands of Armenians, along with policymakers, religious leaders from the U.S., Canada and around the world will be gathering on May 7-9 in Washington, D.C., to remember the 1.5 million men, women and children who perished a century ago.
