The process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is important, but not a supreme goal, the Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute said, according to Armenpress.

Dwelling on the Genocide recognition by Bundestag, Hayk Demoyan noted: “The German trick is unacceptable. It may be very difficult for the German side to accept complicity in the tragedy, but Germany did admit its guilt in mass crimes against humanity during World War II,” Demoyan said.

According to him, German authorities take a two-faced stance on the issue. “They should either choose to remain by denialist Ankara’s side or face the truth and condemn Turkey’s actions,” the scholar said.

Commenting on the situation in the Middle East, Demoyan noted that genocide is being perpetrated in the same area – Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor – where the Armenians were massacred 100 years ago.
